About

Pickleherring Pottery

is run by myself, John Cockburn. I've been passionate about antique British pottery since a school visit to the local museum in Sunderland. This early introduction to the region's tribal art, our vernacular history in potted form, led to a lifelong enthusiasm for antique pottery from the British Isles.

Based in London, I can offer viewings, by appointment, in any area of the capital to suit. I’m always searching for new and interesting items and I’m happy to travel far and wide in order to purchase single pieces or entire collections.

I don’t do fairs, exhibitions or events and you won’t find any of my stock on other websites or portals. What you see is what you get, an honest service with satisfaction guaranteed.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy the site and you find what you’re looking for.
