Description:
A vivd allegory of the 1812 Franco-Russian war, this jug is modelled as a Russian Bear holding Napoleon in its forepaws. The French Emperor, wearing a cocked hat clearly impressed with the word 'Boney' and holding a cudgel, forms the spout of the jug, whilst the bear forms the main body of the vessel. An awesome piece of pottery.
Circa 1812
Approx - 11 inches (280mm) tall.
