A stupendous jug with a wonderful geometric shape and design, from the horizontal beading on the tall, shaped neck through to the fluted base with its one horizontal band. A stylish, angular handle with impressive terminals and very well executed floral decoration, typical of this famous pottery.
The simple inscription 'CHURCH and KING' so evocative, a superb piece.
